Policy Practice Projects
We support positive change across low- and middle-income countries. We undertake political economy analysis, strategic and policy work, and operational research. We lead programme designs, reviews, and evaluations. We advise programmes and organisations how to ‘think and work politically’.
We also run a flagship training course on political economy analysis.

The Policy Practice provided evidence-based inputs for the preparation of a new UK funded programme around the Berbera port and corridor.
Gareth Williams was the Research Workstream Lead and Laure-Hélène Piron the Technical Director (Research) of the second phase of the Learning, Evidence and Advocacy Partnership pillar of the Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn, UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Nigeria's £133 million programme to support public sector reform in Nigeria.
The project concluded in October 2021 with a series of reports, blogs and webinars.
The Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) is a five-year governance programme, funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID). The programme supports governments, citizens, and evidence-based advocacy to promote more accountable and capable government.
