UN Ghana: Political Economy Analysis Training
Samantha Wade, Laure-Hélène Piron, Neil McCulloch and Simon Bawakyillenuo delivered a three day training for the UN Ghana country team in September 2023 commissioned by the UN Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO).
Representatives from FAO, UNCDF, UNDP, UNESCO, UNFPA, UN Habitat, UNICEF, UNIDO, UNOPS, WHO and the RCO were introduced to the main analytical and operational steps of a political economy analysis, and identified implications for their work in Ghana and the sub-region.
The highly interactive training used The Policy Practice's recent analysis of Ghana's energy sector as its main climate transition case study. Kojo Asante from Ghana's Center for Democratic Development opened the workshop with his perspectives on Ghana's political settlement and current political trends (see photo).
