Support in strategic planning for British High Commission Gaborone
The British High Commission in Gaborone asked The Policy Practice to support a democratic governance diagnostic following Botswana’s 30 October 2024 general elections. TPP Associate Sam Gibson facilitated two key workshops to shape the High Commission's strategy for the next 3–4 years.
Sam reviewed existing analysis, identified gaps, prepared stakeholders, and designed and delivered the workshops—ensuring inclusive and effective engagement, and produced key outputs to inform strategic planning. This initiative supports democratic governance in Botswana and the wider Southern African Development Community region, promoting more responsive and locally grounded development approaches.
The project was delivered through the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's Governance and Politics Centre of Expertise which is managed by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.
