Political economy analysis for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation
TPP Director Gareth Williams is developing an analytical framework covering the political economy dimensions of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA).
The framework will be applied to two case studies — Ethiopia and Burundi — to improve the understanding of how political, economic, institutional, and societal factors affect a country’s capacity to formulate and implement effective DRR and CCA policies.
The study will offer practical recommendations on how these factors should be taken into account into the design and execution of national and donor-supported programmes.
