Niki Palmer


Niki Palmer has 18 years of experience in international development with particular expertise in governance, political economy analysis, security and justice, peacebuilding and conflict and fragility. Niki brings a unique perspective gained from a combination of extensive field experience and headquarter-level advising in both development and crisis contexts. She has worked for the UK Department for International Development (DFID) as a Senior Governance and Conflict Adviser in Afghanistan, the occupied Palestinian territory and Ethiopia. She has also worked at the World Bank and the UN Development Programme. Niki has strengths in strategy development and risk management and has led the design, implementation, evaluation and closure of various programmes. With experience of working across sectors, Niki has applied political economy and conflict analysis to areas including humanitarian, social protection, refugees, natural resource management and climate change. She has managed multi-disciplinary and split-site teams and has recently undertaken assignments in Africa and the Middle East.
