Nigeria: Propcom+
The Policy Practice is collaborating with Propcom+, a seven year Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office-funded project and delivered by The Palladium Group. This aim is to promote market systems development for climate-smart agriculture in Nigeria.
The Policy Practice is supporting the programme by building a political economy and conflict sensitivity approach into the markets systems development initiatives to be supported by Propcom+ in diverse sectors, including climate smart crop varieties, farming practices which increase resilience to climate risks, poultry vaccination, solar mechanisation, e-extension services, deforestation-free commodity production and lowering carbon emissions.
Our work requires a range of engagements, from understanding rural sociology, to analysing investment and finance trends in agriculture; and from forecasting the impact of global shocks, to understanding policy processes and identifying bottlenecks to market development.
