Mashekwa Maboshe is an economist with over 10 years in fiscal policy research and consultancy experience in Zambia and South Africa and on The Gambia and Zimbabwe. Some of Mashekwa’s prior experience includes modelling the distributive impact of fiscal policy in South Africa and Zimbabwe, estimating the impact of tax incentives on sector-level marginal effective tax rates in Zambia and delivering numerous capacity building courses in fiscal policy modeling using Stata.

Mashekwa is an Associate at The Policy Practice, working primarily on research on energy and sub-national energy planning and decentralization issues in Zambia. Mashekwa is currently a lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Zambia. Mashekwa has a Masters and PhD in Economics from the University of Cape Town.
