Mali local governance

Laure-Hélène Piron (TPP Director) is helping the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) review their approach to decentralisation and local governance in Mali.

Mali continues to be in a political transition following its second coup d'état in 2021, with high levels of fragility and insecurity across the country. The UN stabilisation mission and many development partners have left the country.

Through a mix of political economy workshops and interviews, Laure-Hélène will assist SDC staff in Mali identify how to adjust their support to local authorities and civil society in three regions. She will also deliver introductory training on political economy analysis for the whole office.
