The Land Facility Project
Effective land governance is critical for economic growth, protecting nature, securing rural livelihoods, preventing conflict, and advancing women’s rights. Yet globally, only 30% of people have legally registered rights to their land, women hold less than 20% of land titles, and Indigenous Peoples and local communities legally control just 10% of the land they occupy.
The Policy Practice is providing Political Economy Analysis (PEA) support to the Land Facility, a £50 million programme funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Led by Tetra Tech and Land Equity International, with partners including The Policy Practice, the Land Facility works to strengthen land governance in developing countries.
Through building political commitment, enhancing government capacity, and strengthening coordination, the Land Facility will support governments to design and implement robust land governance reforms. TPP’s role is to ensure these interventions are grounded in political realities, enabling more effective and sustainable change.
