Kyrgyzstan: Support to the Jogorku Kenesh Political Economy Analysis

Gareth Williams worked with the Support to the Jogorku Kenesh (S2JK) parliament project in Kyrgyzstan providing political economy analysis of the fast changing political and economic context including analysis of the implications of parliamentary elections in 2021 and 2022, presidential and local elections in 2021, as well as the 2021 constitutional change. S2JK is part of the UK funded Governance in Action programme in Kyrgyzstan that convenes groups of individuals and organisations from the political and business communities to champion legislative and policy reforms focussed on promoting inclusive growth and accountability. The Political Economy Analysis has been used to help S2JK adapt to the changed political and institutional context following the annulled parliamentary elections in October 2021 and to develop strategies to engage with economic policy reform issues.
