Integrated planning for Zambia’s energy future

The Policy Practice has been working with the FCDO-funded Cities for Infrastructure and Growth project in Zambia to examine how petroleum needs might be incorporated into the country’s Integrated Resource Plan for energy in a way that is consistent with the country’s needs as well as its climate commitments. 

TPP Director Neil McCulloch and Associate Mashekwa Maboshe undertook extensive interviews with key stakeholders in Zambia in November 2024 which made clear the challenges and constraints facing energy provision in Zambia in the aftermath of the worst drought for decades.
