Governance in a new development paradigm

Since the start of 2025, severe cuts to official development assistance from the largest bilateral funders have accelerated debates about the future shape of international collaboration.

The UK government is organising an informal dialogue of the future of governance assistance bringing together members of the OECD Governance Network in London, as a first step in a series of events. The objective is to start developing a consensus on how to re-imagine a less donor-centric governance sector.

TPP Director Laure-Hélène Piron is facilitating the event, creating a safe space for the different voices of bilateral and multilateral governance experts and invited think tanks to be heard.

TPP Principal Wilfred Mwamba is writing a provocative think piece, setting out his views from a Global South practitioner perspective. You can read it here.

The project is delivered for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office through the Westminster Foundation for Democracy Politics and Governance Centre of Expertise.
