Georgia Plank

Georgia is an independent expert specialising in: governance, security & justice; gender equality and inclusion; and social protection. Her experience spans policy development, programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and research – across sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and the Middle East. Recent assignments have included support to the gender-sensitivity and inclusivity, as well as the evaluation of, various UK programmes (including several under the Prosperity Fund and Conflict, Security and Stability Fund). She has also worked extensively with the Overseas Development Institute on research into a wide range of social issues, including women’s political and economic empowerment, gendered social norms, age and disability, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, trafficking and migration, and humanitarian cash transfers. Earlier in her career, Georgia led the implementation of DFID’s rule of law policy and advised senior UK officials and ministers as Private Secretary to the Cabinet Office’s Permanent Secretary.
