Collective Action in Programming: A Practical Guide for Facilitators - USAID (2022)

This USAID guide is organized into ten modules, each covering a specific topic or step important for organizing and facilitating collective action.

Recognizing that each operational context is unique, this Guide:
• Discusses the relevance of Collective Action for a given context and presents discussion questions
for whether it should be considered;
• Describes the roles, relationships and skills needed for the different actors in a Collective Action
and resources to build cohesion;
• Identifies types of momentum required for success and provides guidance and considerations
for each; and,
• Provides illustrative tips for monitoring, evaluation, and learning for Collective Action, considerations
for sustainability of such an effort, and reference materials for implementation.
