Burkina Faso context analysis

Burkina Faso has been a priority country for the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) since 1976. To help combat poverty, SDC delivers programmes on governance and democracy, basic education and vocational skills, agriculture and local economic development. In response to the deepening security and humanitarian crisis, Switzerland has been providing humanitarian aid to the country's most vulnerable communities and has initiated activities to promote peace and social cohesion.

Laure-Hélène Piron, TPP Director, is collaborating with political scientist Cheickna Yaranangoré to undertake a context analysis of Burkina Faso to inform the 2026-2031SDC country plan. This includes how to adjust the current strategy and programme portfolio to the evolving context and how to promote domestic conflict resolution mechanisms.
