John Clark

John Clark specializes in the roles of civil society in development and participatory governance. Prior to 2009 he held various posts at the World Bank and, previously, at Oxfam GB (where he led its campaigns and policy work). He has advised Kofi Annan on UN-civil society relations, served on Tony Blair’s Africa Task Force, and written 5 books on civil society and other topics. From 2000 to 2003 he was Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics. He is currently Chair of the international anti-corruption NGO, Partnership for Transparency Fund, is on the Advisory Council of the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law and is Research Associate at the Overseas Development Institute.
